2- Course aims :-
  1. 1- Introduce the students to the concept of the wave nature of light 2- Acquaint the student with the fact that the superposition of light waves leads to a wide variety of effects called diffraction 3- The operation of Michelson interferometer depends on interference of wave light in one dimension 4- The phasor is a useful mathematical device for analyzing single slit diffraction 5- Diffraction of light that passes through the aperture of any optical instrument limits the resolving power of the instruments 6- The diffraction grating is a powerful device for dispersing light into its component wavelength 7- Polarization is firm evidence of the transverse nature of light wave
