| - Students to translate texts from Arabic into English.
- Students to translate texts from English into Arabic.
- To familiarise students with the problems of the arbic text to be translated into English.
- To familiarise students with the language of the political discourse and speeches.
- To familiarise students with sayings and proverbs, in English, and how to find their equivalents in Arabic rather than translating them.
- To expose students to the idiomatic usage in English.
- To expose the students to the American colloquials and their equivalents in Arabic.
