  1. To provides an introduction to the subject and treats the topics of solving nonlinear equations
  2. To introduce students to the numerical solution of linear and nonlinear equations and approximation by polynomials
  3. Give the students a theoretical analysis and on the development of practical algorithms
  4. to find acceptable approximate solutions when exact solutions are either impossible or so arduous and time-consuming as to be impractical,
