2- Course aims :-
  1. Introduce the principles of sedimentary rock properties and their microscopy and also to introduce the main characters of microfossils.
  2. Outline the basic information of sedimentary rocks and microfossil groups.
  3. Acquire the students skills of identification of hand specimen of sedimentary rocks and microfossils.
  4. Study the microfossil groups in terms of taxonomy, ecology, morphology, structure, shells-chemical composition, life history and stratigaphic position.
  5. Develop the application of sedimentary rocks in the oil industry and envirnmental issues.
