2- Course aims :-
  1. Introduce the main principles of the stratigraphy.
  2. Study the sequences of tansgressive and regressive patterns and sedimentary cycles.
  3. Enable the students to use different rules of correlation.
  4. Outline the basic information of the main stratigraphic units (litho., allo., bio.,.pedo., chrono. and geochronologic units).
  5. Acquire the students some ideas on the geologic time scale.
  6. Study the characteristic fossils for each of he geologic time scale.
  7. Study the morphology of the microfossils, microstructure and mineralogical components.
  8. Introduce the principles of Classifying the microfossils, their origin and systematic affinities.
  9. Use the basic fossil roles in the oil exploration, their stratigraphic importance and their application in the industry.

Practical classes in Labs using the binocular stereomicroscope, figures , diagrams, charts, thin sections and microfossil slid

  1. The same as normal students, only skeletal disabilities are allowed in the Faculty of Science.
