2- Course aims :-
  1. Study the metamorphic petrology as a part of the global Earth system.
  2. Introduce the students to the localities where the metamorphic processes occur and what was its structural and tectonic setting there.
  3. Outline the basic information of the field survey, how they can deduce the different types of metamorphism, their grades, and their physical and chemical conditions.
  4. Use the principles of sedimentology and sedimentary rocks.
  5. Introduce the principle of the origin of sedimentary rocks.
  6. Aquire the students skills with the classification, facies and deposional environments of clastic and non-clastic sedimentary rocks.
