2- Course aims :- |
| - Study the metamorphic petrology as a part of the global Earth system.
- Introduce the students to the localities where the metamorphic processes occur and what was its structural and tectonic setting there.
- Outline the basic information of the field survey, how they can deduce the different types of metamorphism, their grades, and their physical and chemical conditions.
- Use the principles of sedimentology and sedimentary rocks.
- Introduce the principle of the origin of sedimentary rocks.
- Aquire the students skills with the classification, facies and deposional environments of clastic and non-clastic sedimentary rocks.
