| - Understand the ability of insects to inhabit different habitats.
- Acquire an understanding of the behavior of insects under different conditions.
- Knowing the different steps of metamorphosis.
- Be aware of reproduction and embryogenesis.

1 | Insect ecology: Introduction and environmental components. Soil habitat, adaptation of subterranean insects. Desert habitat. | | 2 | High-Altitude habitat. Aquatic habitat. Insects and vascular plants, evolutionary origin of insects as pollinators, behavior of flower-visiting insects, mutual adaptations of flowers and their insect visitors. | | 3 | Apoidea as flower visitors, Diptera and Lepidoptera as flower visitors, Coleoptera as flower visitors. Orchids and Hymenoptera, Figs and Fig wasps. | | 4 | Insect behavior: Definition of behavior, with some examples.
