2- Course aims :-
  1. Recognize the basic information and nomenclature of alicyclic, polynuclear and heterocyclic compounds.
  2. Apply the methods of preparation of major classes of compounds.
  3. Formulate the physical and chemical properties of major classes of alicyclic and polynuclear compounds.
  4. Identify the basic information of heterocyclic compounds.
  5. Interpret the physical and chemical properties of major classes of heterocyclic compounds.
  6. Enable the students to separate the components of both simple binary mixtures and more complicated mixtures.
  7. Practice the simple chromatography techniques and apply solvent extraction methods.
