2- Course aims :-
  1. Introduce the basic concepts of thermodynamics and Phase Rule.
  2. Introduce an idea about the maximum work and the chemical affinity.
  3. Study the second law of thermodynamics and its applications.
  4. Learn the importance and the application of thermodynamics to changes of state
  5. Study the third law of thermodynamics and the thermodynamic properties of solutions.
  6. Learn about the nature of solid phases and the equilibria attained between solids and liquids.
  7. Study the classes of two component solid- liquid equilibria and the phase diagrams of three components systems.
