| - Introduce the basic concept of geometrical optics .
- Use the principles of reflection and refraction of light to study their applications.
- Outline the basic information of optical instrumentation and new fields .
- Introducing the students the basics and fundamentals of heat and thermodynamics.
- Study the basic concept of the physical quantities and their units and dimensions.
- Acquire the students skills to drive the applications of simple harmonic motion.
