  1. Introduce the principles of nomenclature of major classes of aromatic organic compounds.
  2. Study the methods of preparation of major classes of aromatic organic compounds.
  3. Study the physical properties of major classes of aromatic organic compounds
  4. Study the chemical reactions of major classes of aromatic organic compounds
  5. Enable the students to use chemical reactions in preparing different aromatic organic compounds.
  6. Acquiring the student the methods of investigation of reaction mechanisms
