  1. To develop understanding of the process of electrical power conditioning and control by using power semiconductor switches, i.e. Thyristor controlled converters, DC-DC converters, inverters and FACTS.

4Principles of inverter operation. Performance parameters. Single-phase bridge inverters. 180/120 degree inverters. Voltage control of single-phase inverters, PWM techniques.
