2- 2- Course aims :-
  1. Provide the students with the essential knowledge and the important skills about the instrumental techniques (Spectrophotometric, atomic absorption, infrared ,chromatographic analytical techniques used for water analysis (nuetrients, silica, phsphates, heavy metals, ....) and monitoring, Control devices and systems used for air pollutants and their application in the environmental analysis.

1 Basics of Chromatographic Analysis: Solubility, polarity and Hydrogen ponding rules.
2 Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and Classical Column Chromatography (C.C)
3 HPLC and Gas Chromatography (GC):-Sample, Carrier Gas, Columns, Injection, Detectors, Chromatogram and Peaks
4 Application on different environmental samples.
5 Basics of instrumental analysis.
6 Spectrochemical techniques, physical method of analysis (Turbidimetry, and nephelometry)
7 UV-Vis. spectrophotometry and their application.
8 Atomic absorption spectrophotometry and flame emission spectrometry
9 Infra red spectrometry, total organic carbon analyzer and fluorometry
10 Principles of air sampling
11 Odor detection and determination
12 Air pollution monitoring
13 Data analysis and display
14 Control devices and systems
